Growing Up is quite difficult, isn’t it? With the internet trending with the problems faced during adulting, this quarantine I felt an urge to write my thoughts about it.
A complete contrast to what the childhood days had been, the time you cross the 18, things just change! With more expectations and responsibilities on your head, life seems to be a chaos. You may feel an urge to share your feelings but there is nobody. There are people around but no one to confide to. And then there are the peers, filled with competition and no sense of empathy. The world today is alone, though surrounded by many. Isn’t this the reason they seek help from resources like Instagram, Netflix, and others? When there is no way out of the problems you’ve been facing then an easy alternative can be ESCAPE! And the so-called ‘social‘ media platforms serve the purpose!
Yet again, to make things worse there are the various parameters by which the society will judge you, whether it be your marks, your preferences or your looks! There is no surprise that students suffer from depression, stress, and anxiety at young ages. How many people will you be answerable to and how many societal tests will you pass?
But again this debatable issue of problems and responsibilities brings me back to the reality that this is the time you can’t waste as you have a future to be answerable to, a phase with even more responsibilities! Though it is an undeniable fact that all we face during this phase of life is essential, shouldn’t it come to us a bit steadily? A beautiful childhood just passed by, we were busy playing games and passing school exams, and suddenly we were 18 and life changed!
Well yes, in this short duration of time, I’ve learned a lot, with the most important lesson being that all that happens in our lives is for a Reason. The world needs me to be a grown-up for all my future endeavors and thus it is making me turn into one. So let’s just do what we can and that is to work for our dreams! So without further brainstorming and philosophical explorations let’s get back to work, enjoying every phase of life, and all tastes of life. As the poet has rightly said, “I have miles to go before I sleep…“. Let’s get back to work to make dreams turn to reality.
